My father was sorting through my late Grandfather's estate and he found an old Weber box with something in it! He called me and told me he thought it still had a bbq inside. I asked him to hold onto it and I would take a look next time I was there. I had no idea what I would find....
It's a NIB 'C' code (1981) Brown (Chocolate) kettle with twin rivet handles!! After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I quickly moved it to a safer location for further inspection and research!
My Grandfather owned a camping shop during the 70's and 80's and I wonder if he ordered it in for a customer who never collected.
Weber only began selling in Australia in about 1978 so this kettle is from an early part of the Australian Weber history.
Enjoy the pics!

I'm not rushing into any decisions like that. Just going to sit on it for a while and think about it.
Oh. Baby.
Very nice.

B-E-A-UTIFUL!! Welcome to the NOS-in-the-box club. This needs to go into the gallery for sure!
Sorry for your loss mate.
I hope you cherish it and remember your grandfather by it. New family heirloom.
Hillbilly, I wasn't suggesting for you to assemble it.
I don't think I would myself. But I know others have different opinions on assembling one for display as a looker not a cooker.
Weber did a fine job at packaging these kettle to protect them during shipment. Just look at it, it's been safe inside its original box all these years.
I recently acquired a NOS-in-the-box kettle myself. I was tossing around the idea of assembling it but I don't think I can do it. I know many here would love to see them assembled but the photos like these you posted are a rarity. Everyone knows what one looks like assembled but very few will ever own one still new in the box. Congrats..

I as well am so sorry for the loss of your grandfather but I would assemble that grill and invite family over and have a BBQ to celebrate his life and the great gift he left behind. Because what's a kettle for but to gather family and friends around and cherish the times we have
Congrats on a great find. NOS is the ultimate treasure, imo.

Keep it as a looker pr make it a cooker. Admire it when you are cooking on another or on it.
It doesn't have any memories yet. Thats entirely up to you,.
Its as if it was left there for you to find, don't ya think?
Enjoy it either way!
So shiny!!!

Wow, that's incredible. I'm really sorry for your loss, but this is a wonderful inheritance.
Do whatever you want with it... including keeping it in the box until you decide. This is a really special treasure.
that is too cool. Did you do any cooking with grandpa?? My Grandma and grandpa did not own any kind of grill ever, can you imagine??
I'm a smoker/BBQ horder and view them as tools that are meant to be used.. If you have memories of cooking with grandpa, what a great way to remember him. Either way, I am sorry for your loss. But what a great brownie to remind you of him, thank you for sharing.

I did plenty of cooking with Grandpa but it was always on an old Coleman Gas Stove. We have found a few of them about the place too but I never knew he had a Weber until I found this one.
Congrats. Very cool heirloom to remember your Grandpa by.
You'll remember him every time to see the NIB Weber that he left in its box. He kept it safe and unused for a reason.
Have the family cookout on that Coleman stove.
