Title: way out readings on my maverick
Post by: rober on November 07, 2016, 12:06:37 AM
i'm running my smoker & the maverick 732 was giving correct readings. I opened the lid & turned the meat & the food temp went down to 38* & the smoker temp jumped to 425*. after closing the lid it stayed that way for around 15 minutes but has now settled back down to normal readings. at 1st I thought the batteries were kaput but that it's reading normally again I have no idea why it happened. has anyone else had a similar experience?

Try swapping the probes around next time. Did you recently submerse a probe in water?

That's happened to me a few times. Try swapping probes for sure, that solved it for me.

no, probe has not been wet. I changed the batteries & it seems to be working. why do they secure the batteries in the transmitter with screws?!?!! P.I.T.A.! if it happens again i'll try swapping probes.
