Title: Mellow Mushroom's Thai Dye pizza
Post by: haeffb on July 16, 2016, 04:28:31 PM
I don't have any "fancy" equipment, other than a stone on a couple of fire bricks sitting on the grill in my OTG kettle. Although, to our prehistoric ancestors, that probably all seems pretty fancy. But I digress.

The lovely wife loves the aforementioned Mellow Mushroom's Thai Dye pizza. We don't have any Mellow Mushroom franchises within reasonable pizza-gathering distance, so I found a copycat recipe.

Done on the kettle and stone. Baskets in a V, with a firebrick across the vertex and the whole thing filled with briquettes and a lump of hardwood.

I also haven't tried my own crust yet - just using store-bought crusts or flatbreads.

Don't have any action pics, but here's the final result:

Recipe:

Mellow Mushroom Thai Dye Pizza

Ingredients

1 pizza crust
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup cooked curry chicken, diced (special instructions below)
1/2 cup cucumbers, sliced into quarters
1/2 small onion, sliced very thin
1 Roma tomato, sliced in halves
2 cloves garlic, minced
3-4 TBS olive oil
2 TBS sweet chili sauce
Parmesan cheese for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions

Special Preparations
* Mix up your dough. When it's risen nicely, roll out and place it on your pizza pan or stone
* Dice the chicken breast. Sauté in a pan with a little bit of butter & olive oil. Add about 1 teaspoon (or more if you desire) of a yellow curry powder and sauté for a few minutes. Set aside
* Warm your olive oil either in a microwave (15 seconds) or in a pan (on very low heat) & add your minced garlic. This will be the base flavor of the pizza.
Assembly
Pre heat your oven to 400 degrees F
* Spoon your olive oil & garlic mixture over the dough, spread evenly. (you can even drizzle a little over the crust)
* Sprinkle your cheese evenly over your olive oil & garlic base
* Add the curry chicken
* Add sliced onions
* Bake pizza for 15-20 minutes or until crust is a nice golden brown & your cheese is just toasty
After baking instructions
* Once the pizza is taken out of the oven, add your fresh sliced cucumbers & tomatoes (I usually add a little more cheese after this step and pop back in the oven to melt - holds the cucumbers and tomatoes in place a little better. If you choose to do this step, remove from the oven a little before it's completely done the first time.)
* Drizzle the sweet chili sauce in a nice swirl over the pizza
* Sprinkle parmesan cheese (optional)

That setup sounds perfect for getting that smoky flavor Using a stone and firebrick is classic!
When I experiment with different crusts or toppings, I like checking menus from various pizzerias to see how they structure their combos and flavor options it really helps plan the overall meal experience (https://mellowmushroommenus.com/).

Really enjoyed reading this discussion and seeing the grill setup ideas here. It's always interesting how food and outdoor cooking communities share tips that make meals even better. I recently checked out the latest panda express menu  (https://pandaexpressmenuu.us/)and noticed how many new bowls, combo meals, and sides they've added this year. Some of the limited-time options actually pair surprisingly well with grilled food nights too.

I came across Mellow Mushroom's Thai Dye pizza and it actually sounds like a really unique mix of flavors. The combination of sweet, spicy, and savory makes it stand out from typical pizza options, and a lot of people seem to love it for something different.

While reading a few food threads, I noticed someone casually mention that when they're not trying new dishes, they sometimes just check a Jersey Mike's prices menu (https://jersymikemenu.com/) guide for quick and familiar meal options. They also said Jersey Mikes promo deals (https://jersymikemenu.com/jersey-mikes-coupons/) can help save a bit if you order regularly.

In another discussion, Qdoba menu with pictures (https://qdubaamenus.com/) came up as a flexible choice for customizable meals, and a few people mentioned using coupons to keep things budget-friendly. It wasn't directly related to pizza, but it came up naturally in the conversation.

The pizza turned out great, and the combination of curry chicken, fresh vegetables, and sweet chili sauce sounds like something I would definitely try. Food discussions like this are always interesting because they introduce new flavor ideas. I also like checking a Taco Bell Restaurant Menu (https://tacobellsmenus.com/) from time to time to see different menu options and meal combinations. Appreciate you posting the full recipe.

That Thai-inspired pizza sounds like something I'd happily fire up on the grill just to try once. The mix of curry, sweet chili sauce, and fresh toppings is definitely different from the usual pepperoni or BBQ combinations, and it's always fun seeing what other people in this forum come up with. I usually end up planning the whole meal when trying recipes like this, so I was also browsing the Applebee's beverage menu (https://applebeesmenuss.com/applebees-drink-menu/) for a few drink ideas to go along with pizza. Thanks for sharing this recipe and all the helpful tips throughout the discussion.

The Thai Dye pizza sounds like a really interesting combination of flavors. I enjoy seeing unique pizza recipes that go beyond the usual toppings, especially when they include sweet and spicy elements. Food discussions like this often lead me to explore other menu ideas and deals as well. Recently I was checking some Popeyes Coupons  (https://popeyessmenu.com/popeyes-coupons-promo-codes//)while comparing affordable meal options for the family. Thanks for sharing the recipe and grilling experience—it was a fun read.
