Title: 2001 Plum SS Performer
Post by: mhiszem on June 16, 2016, 07:20:23 AM
Finally got lucky this week and landed a plum stainless performer in great condition. The family I purchased it from said it used to be their parents. Vent code is DA so it is from 2001. I am excited to get it home and start cleaning it up. I have been looking for an Ss performer for a while and finally found this one for $50. I will post more pics later.

One quick question what type of vehicle is that @mhiszem ?

Thanks, it is a 2012 Honda CRV. I was worried I was going to have to lay it on its side but it fit perfectly standing up.

I think it looks terrible!  Being the good kind hearted person I am I will give you your hard earned 50 bucks and take it off your hands! ☺

But seriously nice score!  I am little by little liking the ss performers better than new ones!

Thanks! Haven't had a chance to take more pictures but there are a few chips in the bowl and a weird dent on the lid. Hope to be able to clean it up and take more pictures this weekend.

Was able to get the propane tank filled this weekend but will have to get it re certified if I want to get it filled again. I soon realized that the igniter button was gone and no gas came out of the burner tube after I turned the propane on. I am going to clean out the burner tube and try lighting it with a match to see what happens. Would the regulator prevent gas from getting to the burner tube? I was already thinking about converting it to use the 1 lb tank so this would be a good time if I have to replace anything anyways. I am looking forward to getting it working again.

Congrats on the grab!! If you swap over to the 1LB tank, let me know, I may be interested in taking that 5lb'er off your hands ;)
