Got this one a few days after I picked up my c code for $10 on CL. I had to clean this one up first. Here's some before and after pics. Can't get the ash pan to clean up at all. Any suggestions?

Nice score, and a thumbscrew to boot. Cleaned up real nice.

Me personally ... Not sure what the hype is with a super-shiny ashpan on an older kettle ... Takes away from the beautiful bowl and lid ... Just sayin'.

No way! The ashpan is the 3rd largest exterior surface and a shiny one goes a long way to making the overall kettle look more awesome.

Great find and clean up!

I'm with gummi on the clean ash pan, it takes a bit of work, but well worth it in the end.

Then I always wind up using them and they get dirty again...I'll still clean it every time I bring home a "new" grill

Thanks guys, I'm really happy with it. I'll try some CLR on the ash pan and see if that will do the trick.
