will the 2015 lid bale and 2015 metal table top fit on a 2002 performer? model DU. thanks

Not the table, the frame design is completely different until the 2005 2nd gen changeover. Kettle holes are the same, so the newer lid bale will work but your #8701 cover won't quite fit I don't think.

Confirming that the bale swap is a simple thing, but your cover won't fit anymore.  I'm really glad I made the change, though.
