Nice grab, especially for $10.
Lid guesses:
Brewtownbeatdown neighbor took it as a practical joke, then lost it

Grate Find!
For the rest of the story; the lady I bought it from told me she had moved to her current home a couple of years ago and that movers had lost the lid to the grill and she never got around to buying a new one. She is getting ready to move again and just wanted the grill out of her way so she figured ten bucks was good to do that. I met her after work and as she walked me to the grill in her poorly lit garage I couldn't figure out why the grate wasn't sitting down just like posted pic, it was kicked up. Well to my joy and disbelief I found the missing lid. It had simply been placed upside down in the bowl with the charcoal grate and the cooking grate on top of it giving the appearance that it was missing. No I didn't point it out I simply handed her a ten and rolled the grill out to my jeep. I didn't get a chance to look at it closely until I got home and as I pulled the pieces out I and looking at the bowl and it doesn't look like it's been cooked in more than once or twice and the same with the grate. Amazing. Yes I probably should have said something to her but she was clearing the house out for her move south and I don't think she would have cared either way.
Here is how it looked when I first saw it. (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/8b0e9eac42b67db126f21b953025420e.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/d41f975d0902aa47e863b6cf29e4e7b4.jpg)
Now the bowl.

Assembled. I have not cleaned a thing yet. (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/2d738a7cad18da696eeffce4cffc10f2.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/26815ccae277a31e91152d584ce97c8f.jpg)
Oddly though the lid is discolored like it possibly had a cover which was constantly damp on it. (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160223/dde9a3c64900235f2dc1ceb618c9b1ac.jpg)

Nice find!
$10.00 lol. What a steal. Great find.
now that's a deal!
Awesome find. It looks barely used.
Wow, the propane tank alone is worth more than $10!
Wow! Nice score!!
Win!
Lordy- Congratulations!
That is one hell of a score! A missing black lid is no big deal at all. Might be a little harder to find an age matching lid, but if you aren't worried about that you should be able to find any old black 22 on CL of OfferUp really cheap. Damn that kettle is clean!
Damn!!!! Score

Heck of a score! Enjoy!
@RumBar -
@toolhead might still have a brand new lid available.

@MacEggs - Oops. I did see the pics, but figured it was a lid from a loaner grill since I didn't read the full story! My bad!
