An acquaintance picked this up out of a laneway. It was a throw away.
No letter code on the damper so made before '79, right?

The "b" on your vent is not enlarged so it is a 78' according to the chart. Very nice Kettle.....I see no porcelain loss. I'd be thanking that acquaintance profusely.

She picked it up as a discard, not me :( And she's keeping it. Nice find.

In that case see if she wants a modern model with sweeps and an ash bucket. If so find a cheap OTG and trade her.
that looks great. lucky find for her!
Nice find!
I hope the acquaintance is your ol'lady.
I thought it was just a crappy pic for color, but it is the dark green color.

Really? If it's actually a forest/hunter green then it's quite a rare mbh.
awesome find! RRR
Looks black to me
looks black to me too.
Black or Green I'd still look to trade for it.
I thought it was black also but then she said she was naming it Smokey Green. :/
I asked if it was green and not black and she said yes, a dark forest green.
I replied "awwwwww geeeeeze!!"
It's just the crappy pic that makes it look black
Yeahhhhh, we're going to need you to go back and document more pics of this kettle.
Time to take one for the team buddy :)
Only contact I have is through the web. I'll see what I can do.
She'll try to get pics in a few dfays, maybe after the holidays. Apparently they also have an orange about the same vintage. No interest in them myself. I'm happy with what I have. Unless........!
Hmmmm.... A green MBH kettle and an orange kettle. She's either color blind or she has two rare kettles on her hands
Fantastic find!

Nope, I'm good. :) They thought all they had was a cool Weber freebie. I'm really enjoying their reractions to the news that it isn't 'just another Weber'
