Title: Plastic handles/ wood handles Age guide
Post by: Hogsy on September 27, 2015, 12:10:44 AM
This may of been brought up before but I noticed the the age guide says that plastic handles were introduced in 2000 but the performer had them in 1990

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the age guide you're referring to is for 22.5 three wheelers and special models (i.e. Seville, imperial sequoia )The performer and SJ models have separate history/age guides

So looking at this picture, my stainless steel performer does NOT have tool hooks.  I always wondered why, and thought they had just been lost or broken by the previous owner.  I also have never seen a place where they would go on my performer.  Based on this pic, does that mean some SS performers just don't HAVE tool hooks?

@crowderjd like these? I don't have an SS but from the way it looks these are clips that would hold tools and probably attach by just clipping on inside the storage area?(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/27/169230681563bcb12d223776b7923958.jpg)

Age guide for performers states that they came with tool hooks. I've seen pictures with and without

@weldboy Yes those tool hooks above the propane tank.  I just always assumed that they were missing from my grill, but the pic above is the first "official" pic I've seen with them missing.  I've looked at buying some replacement ones from ereplacement parts, but I haven't missed them that much.  I think it is just the obsessive part of me that wants things to be complete.

@crowderjd   I know that feeling well! :o

I have a set of 3, stainless utensil hooks, that I don't "need". If you would like to have them, PM me your address and I'll send them your way.

So is there a plastic handle database? This info seems off:

I have a Red Performer Touch 'n Go "P" 1993 that has the plastic lid handle with ridges and no Weber logo. I remember buying some replacement the same style from a shop that went out of business, and a lot of chimneys had them as well.

Odd I've never seen the ridge handle on a chimney
ANd it seems ha they put some black and some light grey handles on the Performer SS tables as well.
