Can you please clarify? Are you shipping or receiving this kettle?
It's on CL in my girls home town. I could have her uncle pick it up. NIB twist on would be sweet, if it's a Weber, but the wheels are throwing me off.
Those are the only pics posted.
The bottom vents are bolt on so this is probably one of those weber kettles that were private labels to sears, Kenmore, etc. If that's the case then it's totally possible it had some weird wheels included. The orange peel finish screams early 80's to me. I think it would def be worth a look. Double score if that grate is SS.
Thanks man. Gonna try for it.
yeah that's got some searious (:o) orange peel going on. ;)
go get er.

Got this from the seller. Unfortunately, turns out to be a little town, over an hour from my girls family. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I understand what you guys mean about the "orange peal" now. Sucks so hard, that I can see it but can't reach it.
The handles in that bag look like the K-Mart label handles for the kettle Weber made for them back in the early 80s. My mother and father in law have the 18.5 version and it's the same handles and edge on the twist ash pan.. That 22 is a nice find and ditto on that orange peel finish. Sorry I don't have a close up pic of the handle but it has the 1962-1980s era K-Mart logo on what's left of the lid handle.

This is very interesting! Super heavy peal with the odd wheels - and the ash pan almost looks like a rolled edge pan that's been flattened out?! That's the first bolt on LID vent I have seen in an econo as well. Seems a bit of a mystery this one 8) It's like a Weber had an affair with an HC and this is the delinquent love child :P
Edit: Thanks for the pan info Craig - it looks to be the same style. Handle too..
Hummmm, here's a thought ... it's already IN a cardboard box, why not just ship it 100 mi ??? SJ
No problem if it were eBay, or something like that. Not sending a random CLister $100, 9 hours away.
