Title: 26r CL Score
Post by: mwmac on August 03, 2015, 08:52:29 AM
Did a light cleaning and loosened the seized daisy wheels on the 26r I picked up Saturday.  Will be going to a friend in a couple of days so I am purposely leaving the deep cleaning for him to cut his teeth on.  Also including a couple of pics of the 22" rotisserie that came with the 26".  As can be seen, the lid fade is extensive.  Triangle corrosion should come off easily.

Corn n tater was an unexpected surprise.

New Grillmark that will be going with the 26r.

Rotisserie ring and spit are in excellent condition.  Motor is a Brevel 400 and works well but had evidence of having been left out in the elements (dry puddle of rust inside the housing).  Cleaned and lubed it so it should give years of service.

Very nice, love the new grate
But the roti rod must be a PITA to remove when loaded with food

Great find on its own let alone with a 26 CnT and bonus roti! Very nice!

I was surprised to see that it only had two holes rather than a u-shaped cutout at the handle end of the ring to allow for easy loading.  I am used to bringing the loaded spit rod to the ring, inserting into the motor and positioning the handle end of the spit in the cutout.  With this one, you could preload the food/rotisserie basket, remove the plastic spit rod handle, slide the handle end through its hole in the ring and then insert the point of the spit rod into the motor and re-attach the handle.  Doesn't sound like much fun removing the hot spit rod at the end of the cook...
