Just completed the restoration and would like to share photos but I seem incapable of figuring that out. I know somebody here is salivating to see the pics and will share that.
Thank You WKC, this place gave me some key info to get this done.
Here you go Ken. Scroll down to the last couple of posts in this thread:

Thank You. That is what I am looking for.

Found this on CL and I am convinced that the original owner only used it enough to empty 1 tank of propane and never used it again. It was stored covered but still had some under frame rust by the star nuts. I ended up replacing 2 of those with the help of WKC forums. Converted the ash catcher to todays style again with the help of WKC forum. This is my first restore and my 2nd SS Performer.

Nice job Ken, she's a beauty !!!!!
Very nice SS performer! Great to see it all cleaned up and ready for use. Nice upgrade on the ash catcher.
If you are looking for further enhancements, I highly recommend a set of wood handles for the kettle and the table.
@zavod44 can set you up.

Nice job.. Does the new ash catcher fit the SS performer without special modifications? Where did you purchase it?
Nice restore!

Here is the link. I had to modify the legs of the kettle with a dremel. I found that info here on WKC and they showed 2 other ways to attach the new ash catcher. I chose to cut grooves in the kettle legs. If you cant find those instructions let me know. I think I just googled it and landed there.
Nice work. Really came out nice!

Thanks for the info. I will try to look for the other ways of attaching the catcher.
