Title: Old Tex and young(er) Red
Post by: kendoll on May 08, 2015, 11:12:00 PM
Well I finally had a coming together of time, space, weather, and inclination to unpack the sweet old Texan I purchased from @LightningBoldtz maaaany moons ago. Haven't yet cleaned it up, literally just unpacked it and put it together (still need to clean it up and get the sticky tape marks off it!).

The timing was perfect with my dad dropping off the MBH red he picked up for me up in Queensland (you really don't see many of these in Aus at all). The red will be going straight to @Hogsy at next weeks NSW WKC meetup.

Thought I would take the opportunity to get a few pics of the Texan with one of its more colourful younger siblings. :)

Meh, it's only been 22 months.   She looks awesome.

I sold this to Ken in July of 2013 during my "great" weber sell off where I sold many Webers to pay for my Kamado (I lost a lot of friends for that move :) ) @mike.stavlund .  Considering that it literally traveled the globe I was curious what it looked like.

Hey Jeff. If there was anyone more curious than me about how it would end up once it landed in Aus it was you. It made its way from IL to TX, then on a ship through HK and on to AU, then sat in a box for many months. Finally I have (just enough) space to set it up and admire it. It's my oldest grill and I am so long forward to cooking on it.
