Well with some help form a grillfella who grabbed this for me, I finally have what I consider, the first non everyday kettle to add to my small collection. Being a bourbon lover this was a perfect score. originally I was just expecting a plain ol black OTS 18.5 when it was posted on CL as a freebee. After it was picked up I found it was a logo kettle. Best part of that for me is that it is a Jack Daniels kettle.
The original owner had used the ash catcher as a charcoal plate so I have a new one coming along with a new charcoal and hinged cooking grate. This will be a regular cooker when I want the smaller kettle. A few pics...

Signature shot!
Have wood handles being stained and finished and they will go on and give it a bourbon flair.
Resize your photos - they bloat the screen something fierce.
Congratulations! Looks very good and you can't beat the price, If I could have Weber make my dream logo kettle it would be a green with a Jameson logo, Jack Daniel's is perfect for a black one
Awesome score!
Very cool kettle, congrats!
congrats!
Brian made some really cool jack Daniels handles for a friend of mine who's a big jack fan. I'll try to find pics. Congrats you should make a gold out of it.

Glad you could save it!
Nice pickup! Those JD Zavdles would look killer on that!
Wow, I just have to get a set of those handles. Any chance of getting a set made Brian?
Love it.

Yep yep, skip the ash catcher plate and convert it to a Gold instead as the cost difference isn't that much. And add those Jack handles.

I have the same one, NIB with a bunch of JD handles Brian made for me from JD barrel staves that I gave him. Nice grill.
And for those that don't know, JD ain't no bourbon. It's Tennessee whiskey. Big difference between the two.
All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

Tis true. They wouldn't let poor Jack into the Bourbon club. ;D
Nice score Jim. I'm also a bourbon-fan who's been known to drink some whiskey (and scotch) as well. :P
