I have a Performer with the OTG setup and also a standard OTS.
I got the performer second hand where as the OTS was brand new out of the box.
Is generally the OTG style ash sweeper less effective? I find that it does not have sufficient throw to really sweep 100% of the bowl. Where as the silver ash sweepers have enough to overlap in both directions to really sweep the bowl well enough.
Is this just how it is or is there potentially something wrong with my Performer's OTG setup?
Btw I have no idea if this is the right forum to ask this kind of question.
My performer sweep seems to do a great job of sweeping the bowl clean
I think they are exactly the same. Not sure what makes you think otherwise.. Maybe the OTG doesn't travel as far at the OTS but in theory they are exactly the same sweep..

I think the aluminum ring or pan holder on the OTG does somewhat limit the extent of the sweep since the handle is stuck in the channel. On the silvers you can slide the handle all the way over right up against the leg socket. Not a huge difference but maybe 1/2" ?
Sometimes OT owners will jam the blades and try to power through it and bend the handle. When that happens it messes up the range of the sweep when installed on a OTG collar. Check to make sure your handle is straight
