It could be, I do shop at Jewel, there is one two min from my house.
His name is " Uncle Johnny Coons " he hosted a number of kids shows in the 50s and early 60s in Chicago. In his time he was a celebrity in the Chicago area and I'm sure the picture is from the show based on his choice of aprons . " Noontime comedy" as it was called did skits and offered advice about healthy eating for kids , he did grocery store grand openings and I'm sure Weber saw an opportunity to get involved with him and his show and so we got the famous grill shot. :)

Nope not from Chicago, was researching 50s kettles , found that pic and wondered who the guy in the monkey apron was , just a history buff .:)

My mother in law knew exactly who he was. She grew up here and she watched the show when she was a kid. I'm not sure it was a kids nutrition show it sounded more like a kids nonsense show.....but interesting. I was a history major in college for a while...I gave it up.
