I was searching CL and saw an ad titled "Vintage lime green Weber Kettle grill with cover - $75" just posted with great pictures of the grill. I immediately emailed the seller and jumped in the truck to start the 1hr 15 min drive without even hearing back from the seller. I knew it was in a good area so I figured I would wait for a response while hanging out down the street.
While waiting for a response the PM's starting flying on WKC from the Mid-Atlantic Crew. I was getting excited!
I waited, and waited , and waited...... No response from the seller. I decided to head back home and received an email from the seller as well as her phone number. It was getting late so I decided to just email her back. We agreed to meet at 8:30am.
I had a rough night sleeping. I had a feeling that the seller might get an offer she couldn't refuse. I woke up and checked my email. Nothing. I headed out at 7am and arrived at 8:22. It was sitting in the alley waiting for me.
The seller stated it belonged to her father and it has been sitting in her attic for over 20 years. The grill and cover are in great shape! I'll post better pics when I can.
Here's the Craigslist pics:

Wow nice pick up! I love the cover!
Great score! That is dedication, to take off with out a reply from seller.
Tow round trips, but worth it.
Sweet!
I love the smell of a evening cook...
Cool.....that was within walking distance from my work. I didn't see the ad until this morning and was fighting myself about contacting the seller (I already need to thin the herd). I finally sent an email and got a response that it had already sold this morning. That made things easy, and I'm glad it went to a member. I can't wait to see some more pics.
Gorgeous Lime Kettle you picked up.....the cover is ummmmm.....very 1970's and also very, one of a kind.
Awesome cover and kettle.
Great score. You can sleep well tonight.
Amazing find, would love to find a lime someday.

Nice score. Are those old school covers thicker like the premium covers today or more like the thin grey colored covers?

Man oh man. That is beautiful.
Really happy that you got it Troy - knew you were getting worried about it.
Heck of a score and such a great color! love the cover too, so cool!
Congratulations on a kick ass score!! That cover is awesome! That lime is one of the cleanest picked up I've seen in a while.
I gave it a quick rinse and snapped some pics when I got home from work. The color seems to change in every pic. The only damage is to the lid handle and front handle. I'll give the inside a good cleaning in a few days.
The ride home

The cover is heavy vinyl. Much thicker than any modern cover. I'm surprised it stayed flexible being stored in a hot attic all of these years.
Wow, that handle is in great shape! Nice grab, Troy. Congrats!
Wow, those pics are amazing! Great score!!!
Man that's clean! Amazing find!
Nice score, that's in grate condition!!

Cool. I'm guessing that it is heavy duty like the old school 80s and early 90s WSM covers that were made from thick vinyl. That grill is really pretty to look at.

I'm with you mike. We need to set something up.
That is just beautiful!! And you got the classic WKC "it's in the back of my truck!" photo. That lid handle looks to be in awesome shape. I hear that unlike the Cados, the Limey's change colors slightly when hot? Like the yellows and reds?

I've seen the red and yellow change colors... never a lime, though... somebody needs to get on that & post pics!

My lime changes just ever so slightly. Gets a shade darker. See if I can find some good pics that show it. My C&B performer changes also but only with a really big hot load of coal in it.
Nice lime looks to be in tip top shape!
That thing is amazing. Great get!
That is an awesome find.... You Yanks have it too good!
A lime and a chestnut are on the mental want list..
Love it!
