Title: Weber Manturion Griddle
Post by: Hogsy on August 11, 2014, 10:57:58 PM
Spotted this on Gumtree last week and it is currently in transit to my place
I've seen them in old catalogues but this is the first I've seen in the wild
I'm pretty sure Brian has one but this could be a first for us Aussie WKCers

Will that one fit INSIDE the kettle with the lid on? I don't think Hogsy's one is designed to do that with the way the handles jut out.

Yes - they are the same size as the grates so it rest on the tabs.

I don't think I've seen one quite like that either. It's big and looks like it sits on the bowl.

The Griddle arrived today!!! Woohoo!!!
And it's cooler than I expected and it's BIG!!!
Anyway here's some pics
First of all the box, which is in pristine condition.
There's no dates on it but seeing as they refer to the kettles as 57cm and 47cm I presume it's from the 90's but after going through all my 90's catalogues I haven't found it pictured

The handles, which are normal weber handles minus the logo and also different to what is pictured on the box
(http://i1165.photobucket.com/albums/q585/joelhogston/BA43F90F-D9C9-4621-BB24-93A9862C1BE7_zps6fzcjigm.jpg) (http://s1165.photobucket.com/user/joelhogston/media/BA43F90F-D9C9-4621-BB24-93A9862C1BE7_zps6fzcjigm.jpg.html)
And on the 18 or 47cm as us Aussies call them

From what I can tell the coating is porcelain enamel or similar to an oven interior
I'd like to say thanks to all the local Grillfellas who let me have a clear path for this
It was out of everyone's area and therefore fair game
I won't mention names because you all know who I'm talking about
This is the coolest accessory I've scored this year
