Title: Weber torch
Post by: ROB_STANG2000 on July 14, 2014, 06:43:26 AM
I found two of these in a small store new in the box.  Any idea what they may be worth.  I have never seen one, or seen one for sale. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/14/ne6yhyry.jpg)

That is cool! Seems to be very limited info on them on the interweb - Nice find!

Hey Rob - if you don't need 'em - I do! If you only want one, I'll make the other disappear!  ;)

I think I am going to keep them for now.  I couldn't find much info on them.  I was curious what they sold for new, or what do they go for now.

They are no longer made.  They came in 3 different finishes...stainless steel, hammered copper, and black.  They went for about 50-60 each.  They hold 1 gallon of fuel.  They are pretty cool.  I have 3 of them.

A gallon of fuel? These are much larger than I imagined. Sweet find.

Holy crap.....a gallon of fuel!?!?!  How big are they?  I've seen plenty of pictures of them, but I guess I never saw one sitting next to something I could use for a size reference.

I don't have any pictures handy to show scale for size, but yeah...1 gallon of fuel.  They last a long time!

Where did you find them. I know ereplacementparts.com had parts for them.

I remember their price being closer to 100. I've been hunting for some for a number of years.
As I recall they're basically a smokey joe turned into a tiki torch (on a stick)

at one point there were 6 bronze ones in chicago and the seller wanted $25 per torch or 125 for all.
I was too much of a cheapass and didn't buy them :\

They are smaller than a smokey Joe but still bigger than most tiki.  I did see they made a table top one it may be as big as a SJ. I will take some more pics this is the only one I took so far(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/15/vure5a3u.jpg)

None of the ones I have have that stamped plate on the snuffer.  Can you take a close up pic of that?
