Title: 27" kettle?
Post by: pbe gummi bear on June 19, 2014, 12:45:58 PM
So my 27th b-day is coming up and my wife keeps bugging me about what I want. I told her I don't really need anything, but then I figured I'd get creative and ask for a 27" kettle. Golden kettle bday gift or something like that. Mrs. Gummi googles it and voids the idea because it's only 26.75". Any thoughts or strategies for this one?

1. Tell her you are used to being just a little short.  ;D
2. Tell her you'll glue a shiny new quarter to the lid vent.
3. Tell her you may be turning 27, but you don't look a day over 26 years 9 months.

Nice! Steel has a thermal expansion coefficient of 7.3 10^-6 in/in oF so to get the 26.75" to expand to 27" I would need to heat it up to 1280F  :o

So this is actually turned into a polling thing now, eh?

I say, you need the kettle, but the third unavailable choice in the poll is to save up & wait for a nice older 27"......and everybody still gets to love America...... 8)

Gummi - I hope I am not too late on this one.

Have her buy you 2 26.75 OTGs, and a 18.5 OTS.  Then you give me your 22.5 WSM and one of your 22.5 kettles.  That should equal 27 I believe.

Of course, I will gladly sell the kettle and WSM back to you at a later date (however long it takes).

Glad to help,

Winz
