Title: A few pics of my newest (old) kettle
Post by: Jason on June 01, 2014, 09:31:25 AM
I saw this on Craigslist Friday and contacted the seller. It really looked grey in the pics, but after speaking with the seller, he confirmed it was just faded black. It was on my way to an event for my daughter, so left a few minutes early to check it out. For $20 I'm pretty stoked! It has an "A" vent code and should clean up nicely! I'll post some more pics, once I clean it up.

I really like that faded look. Nice pick-up!

Try to save that cooking grate. The older ones have a bit more of that "heavy duty" look to them.  :) :)

They have that "heavy duty they dont make em like that anymore so preserve and cook on them" look to them. I prefer these to the modern flip grates.. Sweet faded A code!!!

Nice faded MBH.  The pan alone is worth $20.  Nice score.

I finally got around to cleaning this one up!

I still need to clean up the original cooking grate, but have a spare that I can use for the time being.

I still might put a few more finishing touches to it, but I'm done for now.

I think it looks pretty sharp in the SS Performer.

The Mini got the call to work for todays gathering later this afternoon. (7.5lb Pork Butt smokin away in there)

That's really classy. Are you short a performer kettle or is that a work in progress?

Yes, I am looking for a kettle that is in better condition than the one that came out of that cart.
