I have been asking a friend of mine to let me foster his kettle for over almost a year now
and he finally agreed that it probably was for the best to bring it over. She ain't pretty but
she still has it going on, I did my very first pork butt on this about a year ago before
moving into the house we're in now and going hog wild buying Performers.
I'm working on getting the history of this old warrior and will share it as I get it.

You should restore that old work horse for your friend!
A little elbow grease and that will be as good as new!
She would clean up nicely.
I suggested a clean up and restore to him and he wasn't really open to the idea, he likes her just the way she is.
He is pretty resistant to change but I'll keep badgering him. I have been thinking of offering him my DZ in a straight
across trade though and then I can do whatever I want with it.
Sometimes it's nice having a restoration, and sometimes you want it to show off it's age and look well-used. If it's a 35 year old grill, I kind of lean towards the latter. I also have an A-code and love it (it's beat up).
Sent via smoke signals from my Weber kettle
Anakimana yeah like I said she ain't pretty, she's a cooker not looker and she still has it going on..
It's Bob's long lost cousin !!!!
Welcome to the A Team! I have a red one that I use often. That cooking grate almost looks like the ones from the 1950s era 22's judging by the side handles. If that's an original 50s Weber grate, then that makes it all the more sweet! Clean her up and love her for another 35 years! 8)
