Title: Painting the ash catcher bar?
Post by: crumbsnatcher on April 19, 2014, 06:24:28 PM
Has anyone sprayed their ash catcher support bar with Rustoleum high heat paint since they take quite a beating from the heat and grease during cooks?  I was thinking that may prolong the life of these bars and considering doing it with SS restore I'm working on.

I've never sprayed any but it sounds like a good idea. It shouldn't get hot enough to give of any bad stuff, to go up to your food.

Go for it, it can't hurt.

I painted one with clear engine enamel almost a year ago.  Obviously, it looks the same as it did prior to paint but with a slight gloss.
