Bowl to lid fit issues
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:03:58 PM »
Sorry if this is a repeat question:
My 42 year old kettle lid is not quite as round as the bowl. I spun it around to find the sweet spot but there is none.
What is the best way to fix this? Is a great big bear hug in various areas of lid and bowl in my future? Is there a magic spell? Here is a pic. Look close.

Measure and find the tight dimension (direction)...mark it with tape.
Initiate bear hug.

Awesome. I woulda just started groping wildly.
The measuring will help. Just takes a bit of work on both the bowl and lid then.

I should have said "find the larger dimension" because that's where the bear hug needs to be concentrated, but you get the idea.

Definitely bear hug the lid... Not sure you can make much difference in that rolled edge bowl.
