I like the peg legs.  The seller threw in a gift too. :)

That's really nice Harris. Any indication of year on the box?

Beautiful...How sturdy does the handle/vent feel when you turn it? I've always wondered about the offset handle that way. Does it bend the vent at all after many uses? Not that you would be doing your everyday on it...

No date on the box.  The seller's husband was a contractor. About 16 years ago, his crew was renovating the home of two elderly sisters who lived together.  The sisters had many collectible items and gave the seller's husband the grill.  The box was unopened at the time he received the grill.  I was told on a couple occasions the grill was originally purchased in the 1960's.  The handle and vent feel sturdy.

Harris...you're on a roll lately.  You're lucky you have a very understanding wife!  LOL

Does the small box that the legs were in have any sort of writing on it, or is it just plain?

Yes, the Mrs. is a keeper :).  Good question about the box.  There is no writing on it.  Below are two pictures of the leg boxes for the offset brown and my offset red.  The leg box for the brown is on the left.  The boxes are identical.

The handle on the brown "sits back" at an angle compared to the red offset.

Nice find there, Harris.  Maybe I have forgotten, but I don't recall ever seeing a smokey joe with wooden legs.
