Refresh my memory, is that the charcoal grate or the grill grate?

Charcoal grate but I thought this thread would be a good place for them. Firestarters sit in the "V" I also find it interesting that there is a double rod to reinforce it.

Yeah, pretty sure it will fit.....can't see the name on there, but I've used a Kingsford's grill that's exactly like it & they're the same as Weber...........

Yep, looks like a weber cast iron. They must have used the same cast iron grate as was available for the weber gasser. Same piece I use in my kettle I took off my old silver B.

Would like to start a thread about the various cooking grates and cooking grate accessories made by both Weber, as well as aftermarket grates sold to be used on the Weber.  This information would be useful to have in the reference library.  Please limit posts and replies to the subject matter and use PMs, or start a separate thread if you want to discuss information outside of the subject matter.  Include model numbers and manufacturers where possible so that others will know where to source.

Here a a searing grate that came with a ss performer that I purchased off craigslist.  Not sure if it is made by Weber.  The center of the grate is cast iron in a rectangle pattern and is removable.  The sides of the grate hinge upward to enable the addition of fuel while cooking.  The cradle for the cast iron is recessed so that the cast iron bars sit level with the remainder of the grate:

The Performer I have came with the CI Sear grate and grate holder, it was well used and the nickel plating on the holder was completely flaked off. I used a wire wheel brush to clean it up and sprayed it down with Pam.  The grate holder as was the CI sear grate was discontinued by Weber, but I was able to snag one of 6 BNIB holders offered by a member on the TVWBB site years ago.



The porcelain coated CI grates from the Genesis B-C fit the insert so its good to go for any replacement grates.

Don't forget the center section of this grate fits an 18.5 perfectly. (At least it did in a trial-run at a MA meetup last fall.) It's like a two-for-one deal.
