18" OTG Score
« on: February 23, 2014, 11:06:12 AM »
Gotta give OGlenn some props for giving me the heads up on this score. It was listed on CL as an 18" OTG, but it was showing a picture of a 26"...Since I'm in the market for both, I figured I take the 45 minute drive (not that the Bay area folks would do that... ;)) and check it out either way. It was the 18" OTG, plus a chimney starter, bag a charcoal, and some firestarters! I want to make a pair of short legs for it to take it camping.

Outstanding! Is it your first 18?
I only have one, but I use it a lot.
Black is the only gold that I like with the black ash catcher.  ??? :D
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Nice find! My first kettle is an 18. Haven't used it recently though. I've kept my 26", SS performer and 14 and 18 WSM's snow free so I can use them. When cooking for two the 18 is often the ideal size.

Nice find however!

Nice score! I have one, but have not had a chance to clean it. I just haven't figured out 18 cooking... It is a blue and has a logo. Gummi, I was thinking of you when I bought it, but it has two handles...

I was thinking about dropping an 18" with 2 handles into a Genesis gasser frame. Anyone ever try that?

Thanks, glr!

Tattooedant, go for it! It would be like the "SS" version of the 18" OTP. But if you were gonna go through the trouble, I would be inclined to use a 22"
