or the one flat on the lid with the bevel?

In my experience, the newer ones with the bevel are surprisingly consistent and accurate.
While the ones in the handle were freaking worthless.

Yep, the one in the handle. I doubt they are accurate too because only 20% of the probe is actually in the kettle.
