Uh oh. I've got it, bad...
« on: July 13, 2018, 12:02:03 PM »
So now I am cruising Craigslist, and giving some SERIOUS thought to checking and possibly picking up a used Original 22 kettle. The pics don't show any rust or damage, just faded handles....

It would be awesome to have 2 kettles going at once for bigger cooks...

And used prices are between fair, to dang that's cheap! I can easily pick up a kettle with bad grates, replace them with a new coal grate, a new flip grate add a thermometer and be good to go for decades of cooking!
3 Kettles. 1998 Daisy Wheel 22.5, 2010 Smokey Joe Silver 14, 2018 Jumbo Joe Premium 22.5.

You’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more kettles!

Good to go for decades of cooking?

You won’t keep any of those kettles for decades. Weberitis dictates you will flip, upgrade, or swap your way to something else before long.

That’s a good one. I gave my neighbor a modern master touch just so I wouldn’t have to look at his generic charcoal grill any longer.

That's how I got started, looked for a second 22 for bigger cooks. I'm still on the lookout for a 26 even though I have several 22s lol
