Picking up this red 18.5" Wood Dale in a trade.  Needs some work but will get her back in service.  Yes, it does have legs :)

Craig

Is that the one that was on the other site?

Whoa, man.  Looks like that one is going to be very nice!

Yes it is. The bottom of the bowl needs a good bit of work.  The lid is really nice.  We are going to get her up and running again! :)

Looks nice from the picture. Is the bottom rusted through or something?
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Yes, the bottom is going to need to be patched in a few places and the sockets reattached. The parts are there.  It belonged to the trader's great grandfather.  The grill has been sitting in a salvage area for many years.

Bump. Any updates with this one?

Thank you Craig.  I too am interested in an update on this.  This was my grill which I traded to Harris for the Redhead that is now my main cooker  :)

It was that grill, and my search for information about it, that led me to this forum and ultimately started my Weberitis affliction.  8)

I am a little sad that I didnt fix it up myself, but at the time I was not equipt to do so and I know that Harris has the resources and knowhow to do a much better restoration than I ever could.

There is a debate going in my family as to whether this was my Great Grandfather's grill or my Grandfather's grill.  My Dad thinks it is the grill that my Great Grandfather had in Vermont, and my Grandfather says it was the one he had in Connecticut.  They both agree that the two grills ended up here in NY, however this is the only one that I could locate. :-\  I guess we may never know which one it is.

Word on the street is that this may make an appearance at the Chicago meet up.  It may actually have a meal cooked on it.....
