Stupid question on New Performers
« on: February 08, 2014, 11:52:41 AM »
Can anyone give me the inside dimensions of the charcoal bin on the newer performers?  I have a Buddeez Jumbo air tight container (same people that make the Kingsford Kaddy) but it's bigger.  It measures 19"L x 10"W x 20"H

Would it fit inside the bin? Is it even necessary?

No such thing as a stupid question here. The ID at the top is approx 12" wide by 10" deep. It's just over 20" tall. It tapers in depth to approx 7" at the bottom. Not these measurements are closest I could measure as there are a few convolutions here and there. Regardless, it doesn't appear your caddy will fit.

I use the bin on my performer for smoking wood chunks, gloves and such. Never store charcoal in there anyway.

I figured it would be close but wouldn't fit.  Oh well, thanks for confirming.

On my new performer a bag of charcoal fits perfectly.  I don't think you need a secondary container.  I would guess that Weber designed it to hold a bag of charcoal.  I'm not sure I would toss my gloves down in there might be hard to get out...
