I am currently in Tucson but my grills are back in Minnesota so I'm not able to take pictures or measurements until I get back in the Spring. (We live full-time in a motor coach and head south when the weather turns cold.) I mentioned in a previous post that I found this site this winter when I went online to learn what I could about the yellow Weber I obtained before we left in the Fall. Now I'm trying to learn about a blue one I bought back in 1999 (if I recall correctly). What I'm curious about is the difference between the One Touch Silver and the One Touch Gold. If I understand this correctly, the Gold has the ash pan which hangs beneath the kettle - is that correct? But mine also has a lid bale. Was the lid bale a feature of the Gold back in 1999? Or was this an 'add on' that was also available? Or is there yet another model besides Silver and Gold that I'm not yet aware of? I bought mine as a open box floor model from a Williams-Sonoma store. I'm nearly certain that it's the 22.5" model.

The lidbale and thermometer came with the mastertouch kettles. So you have a MT not a OTG.

If I am not mistaken there was also the One Touch Plus that had the lid bale and thermometer but no ash pan.

Thanks, guys. I'm performing search on "Master Touch" and finding everything I need now.
There are a lot of initials and acronyms for a newbie to try and get his head around. :-)

I think the One Touch Plus (aka, an OT+) was a predecessor to the true Mastertouch in the days before ash cans, and would have been phased out by 1999. So I think you've got a Mastertouch.

For example, my OT+ is a 'K' code (1988).

Also btw, that's a sweet kettle you've got there, Dale! Hurry home and post some photos!

Here's an older photo of it that I had on my computer.

Well... that didn't work like I planned. Only a link to the photo where it resides on Flickr. Best I can do for now.

Welcome to Tucson.

Did you bring the weather with you?

It's been sprinkling with highs in the 60's.

I'm ready for winter to be over.

:)

Looking forward to the pictures of the Blue Master Touch.

Um, you suck.   ;)

Wanna know how this winter has went here since Dec 1st?

Get warmer, snow, then bitter cold, get warmer, snow, then bitter cold, get warmer, snow, then bitter cold, get warmer, snow, then bitter cold.......

Right now its warmed up to 3º on the way to a balmy 13º for the high.  :(

And by "get warmer" I'm talking the low 20's.....

Dale, That is an awesome blue mastertouch.  I am looking for one of those!

What part of town are you in?

BigRix

I like that picture.

Just razzin you guys about winter weather. I know you guys are having a tough go.

I wish I could "Summer" somewhere up north.

Although it saves on charcoal in the summer when the grill starts off at 150 plus if you leave it in the sun.

That is quite a haul from me, but I was going to offer if you need to 'rent' a kettle from me for the winter  I am sure I could loan one out.    I am on the opposite side of the valley:  Houghton and Valencia area.  Let me know if you are interested.

Dale Benson

Really nice of you to offer, eh G$. Thanks very much. I carry a gas Q (green) while on the road and have gotten pretty adept with it, so I'll survive. :-) When we first retired and started traveling with the coach I hauled the blue MT in the tow vehicle behind the coach. Even took it to Puerto Vallarta the first couple of winters. That got to be a bit much so I broke down and got the Q. No regrets whatsoever. The convenience and portability are a necessity in our situation but I always look forward to getting back to Minnesota in the spring! We did a turkey breast this past Thanksgiving.

Sweet Motor Coach!  And the grill is nice too, I'd just rather have you cooking on a kettle!   ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D
