I'm looking at a SS Performer.

Old style
No propane tank
No cover

Any guidance on what would be a reasonable price ?

There are a lot of factors...what color is the kettle and is it in good shape? Is the cart in good shape?

DirectDrive

Cart looks to be in good shape.
It's black.

Assuming it is a Touch 'n Go performer (thus designed to have a tank), the lack of that tank kinda sucks, but is a very strong bargaining chip. Without the propane light option, it is basically a simple black kettle with a table (albeit a very nice table).  If the kettle, ash cleaning system and cart are all in great shape, I'd offer $50 and might go as high as $75. If not, I'd obviously aim lower. Of course, value is truly subjective, so much depends on how much you want the grill. The number of folks willing to buy a used grill in December might also work in your favor, as there may be a very limited market for the seller.  Good luck!

Paid 70.00 for mine in very nice condition with a tank,  some royal oak charcoal, a large bag of mesquite wood chunks. And a cover. (I think in July or August).
Mine has a "p " code.

Take a look at the first photo showing the lid.  It looks to me like the handle and top of the lid has been dented in.  If so, a new lid will cost you about 60.00 from Weber w/o shipping.  Since they don't make that particular lid anymore with the therm under the handle, you may have to pop for the new flush mount thermometer also since its a seperate part.  You also need that propane tank which will be another 50 bucks.  Aside from that, I can't see anything major.   Make sure you ask lots of questions about condition.  If that lid is dented in, I'd just pass if it were me.  Unless you can get the whole thing for 50 bucks.

Good eye Jeff.
Hadn't noticed that.

It really does depend on how badly you want it, and how often they become available around you.  I have noticed that prices in Canada are much higher, so that's a major factor.

I've paid $25 for black SSes on several occasions, and have seen friends who were elated to pay $100.  It's all about timing and how badly you want to have a particular model.  I paid $100 in a heartbeat for my red SS, though my buddies have gotten them for much less.

As others have said, be concerned about having all of the components (and in good condition), but I've learned not to worry too much about whether the thing lights or not.  It's actually a better bargaining chip if it *doesn't* work, since they are usually very easy and very cheap to get working (usually a good cleaning is all they need).

Good luck!  I wish you patience if you truly want to wait, and freedom if you just want to buy one now.  ;-)

In AZ that would be a fair price.
