I Saw a red 22 in a back yard one time and it took me a week to knock on the door. I final grew some balls and the lady just gave it to me. It's in exelent condition.

It's a 18, I'll try to take a pic Thursday when I go by. Has anybody got any good tips on the anonymous walk up and buy pitch.
Try mine! You will even earn a avacado patch.  8)

Umm yea, the neighbor that came out this morning never took her hand out of her housecoat pocket. I could take her in a fight, I might could out run her (maybe) but I'm pretty sure Mr Colt had her back. I'm not knocking the abandoned grill rescue, but this ones not abandoned so I'm gonna play nice. Maybe I can swap him that old Char Griller offset in my backyard. Get rid of that heap and gain a Wood Dale, that'd be better than Jimmy Johnson skinning the Vikings years ago.

To Troy's point, wood top handles appeared in at least 1964 as the '64 catalog says "all new walnut handle". Metal bowl handles stuck around through 1980 (B) kettles. All wood handled kettles made their debut for 1981 (C). Then first plastic ones came on for the SS Performer in 1990 (M) and wood ended with the 1999 (EE) kettles and all plastic came for the 2000 (DD) kettles. Hope this helps.

I am picking up a 22' (B) with three wood handles on Sat.  Shhhhh don't tell the wife.

Maybe there was overlap during the 1980 season where the bowls had metal and wood handles.

Let's see some pics of this B with wood handles for sure! I know there was some overlap in '81 with two rivet and single screw wood handles, but have yet to see an '80 with wood bowl handles. That would be cool.

As for the Wood Dale 18, I say, offer a brand new or newer style 18 as a trade. Metal top handle 18's aren't seen as much as the 22's. I'd take one regardless of the color.
