I believe that this cart started its life dressed in black.

Pretty cool, I guess it would be possible to section the ash can to gain some clearance also. Maybe paint or powder coat the ash pan assembly white to match the cart? Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, I always enjoy the resto mods.

It has been a long adventure.  This Seville was rescued from another east coast winter.  I chose to go with a satin black finish because I believe that it had started off as black and at some point had been brushed white.  Gloss white would have show too much grease stains according to person at front desk.  Gloss black would have been a bit much.

So I believe this is original color.

Original condition from seller

I think it turned out very pretty.  A great balance of elegance and utility...
I guess I keep an eye out fro a date correct kettle with tabs but for the mean time Im going to install a plum kettle from a SS performer.

That has come out great! Very nice work. Looking forward to seeing the plum in there but I think a nice blue would look the goods!

Ken

I am leaning towards a nice blue. Or a lime green crate and barrel. I tried to get a buddy to pick me up a red SS with no gas($5) but that didn't pan out. I most likely will pick up a black OTG and spray it blue. A light blue. For now tho I have a plum SS. The cart needs a bit of freshening up so I'll pull the kettle and gas assembly out and use it. This project has drained the coffers and injected some sanity into my kettle-itis. Random grate deal snatches are out for a while. I'll still be looking for grails but I'll be a little more selective and be a bit more ruthless with negotiating a purchase. My budget is now for meat and coals.

...and for whoever said "purchasing charcoal in march is a defeat not soon forgotten." that rings in my head every time I pick up a bag. I'll not be making that mistake next year.

RESCUE
RESPECT
RESTORE
I think I touched on all 3 of those areas.
Cheers, brothers! LONG LIVE KETTLE-ITIS!!

Stunning!
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!
