Weber Seville Cart help needed

I was lucky enough to find a Weber Seville Cart.   I am going to have it powder coated.   What color options were there?

I am thinking satin black, but I believe it started our White.    PLEASE HELP.

Would a new color be sacrilege? 

Or, If I own it I can do whatever color I want to preserve it for another 60 years?

This is a pic of Beef's Seville.
He reached out to me at the Brethren and I'm afraid I was not terribly helpful. I was only to find pics of this vintage Seville in white. (The Seville is probably the Weber product I am the least knowledgeable of.)
Hopefully someone will chime in.

Hey, great score! It sounds like you want to keep this one for a long time and preserve it properly so there is nothing wrong with painting it black. It's just paint, anyway. Another bonus is that black is usually cheaper at the powdercoaters. It might also be cool to have the leaves and vines be accented to make it fancier. Please document and share your process!

Are the wheel treads rubber or metal?

Nice score, I believe that's the third one we know of like that.  I believe all the carts were white. I don't believe the grill is the original grill.  It looks to be installed from a regular grill.  Even having the cart is cool. Gummy why do you think the wheels are metal, I think they all had rubber wheels....Mine are white rubber....

Thanks for the input.  Yes, it is only paint, so I think I will go with a satin black, and replace the front wheels with black rubber wheels, and dye the rear rubber tires black also.   I will document it, and intend to save the wheels in the event it goes back to white one day.

I had to warm the rear wheels in an oven for an hours, and the rubber tires then slipped right off the rim.   

I will likely slice them and use construction adhesive to re-attach. 

Sandblasting is in the near future.!

BTW, I purchased the cart without a Kettle.  I now use a chain 'hammock' to suspend a kettle in it.   it works pretty well!

Could you not have a black cart with white wheels? Why would you need to cut the old ones to reattach? Personally, I like the original look of these carts.
But its your grill and you should do what you like.

This is a vintage Weber cart that is really rare...you should keep it original.

Hey Beef, I hope you can save the white rubber. If you choose to paint it black, that's cool but maybe you could find new treads to preserve the stock rubber. as Jeff said, it's quite rare and it would be a shame to do irreversible things to it.

Yes, dying the rubber tires would be irreversible, and a poor idea.

I guess I didnt realize how rare this cart truly is.  When I looked at google images, only two or three pictures came up, and one of them was mine  :-O

Gloss or Satin?  Everyone is welcome to weigh in on this thing.  I want it to be as close to original as possible. 

I live an hour or so north of where Weber is located, which may explain why I found the cart.  I am guessing they didnt sell many in 67 and probably most were local distribution.  just my hunch.

I don't know what's original so I can't help you there. Where are you located? I grew up in Mundelein. I used to use J&J in Zion for powder coating car parts. They were pretty good imo.
