You've seen this yellow before

This is the Yachtsman that Harris92 agreed to part with.  I received it a while ago but circumstances prevented me from getting it set out and fired up.

Firstly, it was in nice condition, without the deep crazing that is typical of these yellows.  There are a few chips typical of a 40 plus year old kettle.   However, it does have this staining that looks like it originated from the bowl and came through the vents.  I tried all my tricks and this stuff will not budge:

Everything else came sparkling clean, including the bowl and lid interior.  The bowl interior was spotless when I got it. The inside of the lid was lightly smoke covered but came clean with just soap.   I did not touch the wheels, legs, triangle or ash pan.  They look great.

I would say it looks pretty nice all put together....

Sorry for the "not so detailed" pictures.  It is so sunny here, it is hard to get photos without glare.....

Stunning! 8)   Now to get some pictures of the orange change with an AZ sunset in the background!

Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

Soon.  But for now, I fired it up to do some grate cleaning.  I did not want to run too hot, and again, the color change is not real evident in the sun, but here are some photos:

Coals lighting:

If you look carefully, you can see the color changing:

Took the lid off to stoke the fire some:

This is as hot as I let it get:

(Pardon the aluminum foil covering the ash pan - it is too nice to get dirty.

Nice example of a yellow. Pardon me for asking but is that an 18' or a 22'?

G$

18".  Note the handle shape and the vent position relative to the top handle, along with the small and high sitting ash pan.
