Been to another Fabricator and he said the same thing- just buy the KP
Still looking for a drum , I picked one up a couple of days ago,got it home and it didn't fit the kettle
So I need to source another drum
Will keep you posted
Is the drum too big? Just cut it and find a weldor who will weld it back together with a little overlap. In fact I've got a Roti ring build in progress and that's what I'll do to fit it to a kettle. I plan to do the welding myself, having recently acquired a MIG welder.
But I recently got a SS motorcycle muffler welded along with a cracked part for the sidestand bracket. When I dropped the parts off, he said it would be $35-40 but when I picked the stuff up, it was $20.
I also asked him about pointers and he said to bring my equipment over one day and he'd show me what I need to know. (When I picked the parts I gave him some brisket and ribs and will likewise reward with something from the smoker when I come over for 'welding lessons.') Point is, if you find the right guy, you can probably get some welding done for not a lot.
If I couldn't do the welding, I'd probably overlap and drill and bolt the joint.
