Nice!! Once you go  to ash and flame, it's hard to go back to propane! Keep cooking it gets so much better.

My  gas bbq has not been used since i bought my (first) Weber Kettle.

Not even the convenience of having it plumbed in to the house gas supply has warranted it being anything other than a place for me set the GA up on and store all of my paraphernalia. :)

Don't get to mad but I used my gasser last night. I can't get the coals to go 800 degrees nor do I want to pile up that many coals to get it there for 1 or 2 steaks. Granted i know they would taste a bit better but I eat my steak rare/med rare and enjoy the flavor of the beef. Just a touch of salt and pepper maybe fresh garlic and EVOO then BLAST OFF 3-5 min per side depending on thickness. Always perfect!

Oh and free propane is hard to pass up.

Don't worry though, everything else goes on the kettle  ;D

Have you tried it on a GA? I added CI grates to it and that's what I cook all of my steaks on. I'm a rare/medium rare fan too.

Lol James there isn't anything wrong with a propane gasser. They have a place for sure.

Ha! Thanks CS, I have to say my redhead will always be in heavy rotation.

Ken, I've done steaks on a joe and I was happy with the result, the 18 also does a great job. Though I usually just cook for the wife and I, occasionally we have guests and need the space.

As a matter of fact, I just used my Genesis tonight for a big ol' T-bone wifey & I shared.  Likewise, I can't get the charcoal hot enough to use my tried-and-true timing I've been using for years on the gasser.  Love the kettles, but also love the gasser.   ;D
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!
