Finally got my brownie!
« on: August 26, 2013, 09:04:02 PM »
My wife's brother happened through Bend, OR where I bought my brownie and I coerced him into grabbing it for me. This thing is immaculate! Very few chips.

This was a $35 Craigslist score.

The Egg is the one I told about in my intro if you remember. My great uncle received it as a gift but wasn't much into grilling / BBQ. He had been after me for a while to come over and take it for a spin. My great aunt has cancer and so one day I looked at my wife and said, "If we don't plan this it's all at once going to be too late." So we called them and told them that we were coming over. On the appointed day my great uncle heads to Costco and buys enough meat to feed a regiment. Then he comes home all excited and decides to get the patio ready. Out comes the Egg at a jaunty pace - until the wheel hit a crack in the sidewalk. The Egg shattered... well, the main base and the firebox. Everything else survived. My uncle was devastated.  He sat on the remains for a year or so and finally a couple months ago he called me and said I could have them if I felt like fixing it up. I took him up on his offer. I sold a small Traeger and a Green Mountain to pay for the parts which cost $800. Well, actually, that amount includes a couple extras, but you get the idea... I save a few bucks but it wasn't a bargain. I did it as much for my uncle as for me although I am excited about it and also it means something to me that I got it from him. The parts came today so that explains the Egg boxes.

That is my Egg story. I'm really looking forward to using it.
