Red SS gift and kudos to Thin Blue Smoke!!!

A month ago I posted up a wtb for a performer in the Chicagoland area. Kudos to HankB, Landgraftj, and Zavod44 for trying to find one for me, and especially to Thin Blue Smoke who snagged a Red SS and offered it up! This Red cleaned up decently. It had the most pristine bowl porcelain I have ever seen. The ash sweeper freed up with a little oil and rebending, but man, the soot inside was really thick! A few applications of Oven cleaner got it presentable, gave it a bath,  popped new grates on it and gave it to my buddy as a Housewarming gift. It still needs a thermometer and a propane refill. He lives in my parents town so I will be able to enjoy it with him one day.

He closed on his first house on Friday, had his first kid on Tuesday, and now he is the proud owner of his first Weber Kettle.    Here are some pics.
