I tricked out my Jumbo Joe with Brian's (aka 'zavod') incredible work:  a wood handle with metal inlays to accept the metal lid bale that comes on the  Jumbo/Platinum Joe, Smokey Joe Gold, and the European style Smokey Joe.  Not only is it gorgeous, but it's a *huge* design improvement over the wood handles (mine were in good shape, and I was careful to coat and cure 3 coats of marine spar varnish on them, but they still kinda 'stick' to the metal).

Before and after; behold the wonder; thanks be to Brian:

...and yes, I'm now planning to get a new lid bale just to keep up with the new handle.

...and yes, I'm thinking about getting these inlaid handles, even for my regular grills.

That looks great mike! It's amazing how a new handle makes an old grill look new again.

Daymn, that is simply BEAUTIFUL!
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

That is bad ass. I want a jumbo Joe just so I can get one of those.

Looks great!

Have you tried shining up the bail to see how far you can get with it?
