Hi all, after some coaxing I have finally joined the forum (will post up in the intro thread shortly).

What a fantastic day!

It was great catching up with people I
(a) haven't seen for many years (Hogsy) P.S thanks for bringing the photo from our under 8's soccer days
(b) haven't seen in a few weeks (Golly)
(c) haven't seen in a few hours after leaving work (Kendoll)
And (d) had the honour of meeting for the first time after having admired some of the BBQ table creations he's posted up on the forums in Aus (JoCool).

I'm glad JC could make it after all. Did he get his WKC patch?

Thanks Duke, I hope so although I have to admit though with only 1 kettle in my collection I was out of my league here, but I enjoyed admiring the others on display.
I'd like to say a massive thanks to all involved, in particular Golly for hosting the event. It was a privilege to eat off Australias first lemon in the inauguration of both the WKC Aussie chapter as well as Golly's Gadial Ganing which I have watched take shape over the last few months. The food was amazing, the steak was the best I've eaten in a long time and the drumsticks we're awesome.

Definitely looking forward to the next one, hoping this becomes a regular event.

Trust me G, as far as eating goes, I'm a relative light weight.

Let me take a moment to thank the boys for putting us up for the afternoon. Although it's the first time I have met most of these guys, I'm sure that we'll be firm friends from now. And it's great to know that we can give each other a ribbing and not be offended!

And even though one of us purports to be an Aussie, I still believe we have a ring-in!

I would like to add my thanks to the guys (especially Dave for hosting). It was agreat day and just nice to talk kettles with someone who appreciates them as much as you do (and whose eyes don't glaze over at the time).
