Why does the bottom have that ridge and only one handle? Is it that old?

Sears economy or happy cooker.  Not that old.

That's an interesting find. I have never seen one quite like that? It might be a sears model, but not really sure.

Ive noticed some  have the JJ style bowl, and others dont. I have not been able to pin it down to year.

I do not have enough data to say that all the sears models in 18 have the jj style bowl, but i suspect they do.

It would definitely be interesting to see if the vents have any date codes.

Yes craig i think it is.  I have not seen enough of them to know how often if ever the 18 inch sears models came WITHOUT the JJ style ridge, but my guess has been it (ridged boels) happened whenever weber started producing them and also was making JJs concurrently.

Lol Craig, I felt like I was repeating myself, then i felt I was not being clear, then i just settled on this all being part of the sears/kenmore/happy cooker mystique.
