A Wonderful Family!!!

Someone with this knowledge mentioned to me that it was going to be in October. Although that could change, I'm excited to see the 1880.

Will someone explain the purpose of the 1880. I
have the 18.5" and it is just right for the family. I
am not discounting the 1880 just trying to understand
its purpose among the 18.5 and the 22.5. I mean if the
price point is not much under the 18.5 why then the 1880.
Does anyone have any idea about the 1880s cost when launched?
Would love to hear where you guys think it fits best.

I am not sure i can explain the purpose of the 1880, because I have to admit I have never really understood the purpose of the custom mini that folks build with such an undeniable passion.

I should point out, regarding the soon to be offered 1880.... I WANT ONE!

Go figure.  :o

I think of it in terms of small cooks. I am typically cooking for two, or for 6 with friends. The mini works great, and it is fun.

The 1880 is portable. It fits in a normal car or trunk. It can cook 2 beercan chicken, three racks of ribs, and a bunch of turds or wings, or what have you. It's easy to store. It's cheaper and uses less fuel. Food tastes better the smaller the wsm. ;)

I'm sold!  Again!

pbe, when did you get your 1880? Will you pick up another when the release the new version?

pbe gummi bear

No I won't be getting another. I bought it in 2011 and used to use it every few weeks. I have since moved on the full sizers. The 1880 holds temp almost as well as the 18 and I get pretty long burns with it.
