I recently bought a NIB 18.5 one touch gold. If I understand correctly, 2011 was the last year they were offered. The date code on it is AU and it has the designed and engineered stamp.

Does anyone know more about how this could be? Am I off on the time period the grill was made. I think 2011 was the last catalogue that grill was offered.

Just a little curious about it now.

Going off what I learned hanging out here - Weber is notorious for using up all of their parts even if that means incorporating the next-model-years parts to finish off.  So, it's not hard to fathom seeing a 2012 vent on a late build 2011 model.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

Agreed. What color is the triangle and ash can on yours? 2011 should have been the last year for black cans and black triangles before returning to silver in 2012.

Pan and triangle are silver, so newer parts.

I could see using up older parts, but using a newer date code does not make much sense.

Isn't AU 2013? If so, that would be a two year jump....

Hence my confusion....

I was cleaning up yesterday and found a 2012 catalogue and there is a 18.5 gold in it.

AU is '12.  AT is '13.

Oh ya.... Thanks. I even have a 2013 to reference.

So one model year off does not seem so out of line for how they operate.

And there we go. That would add up, thanks! A store I was previously in could only find the price in their 2011 price guide, but I don't have compete confidence in their research ability.

Thanks all for the comments!
