My grandparents’ blue kettle

My grandfather wanted a blue kettle because of the way blue stood out with his colourblindness.  That's why my grandparents bought this kettle when they moved into their new house.  Since he passed, my grandmother hasn't used it much and she asked me if I'd like it a couple of years ago.  I told her I would, but only if she wasn't using it.  Last summer, she asked me again and said she hadn't used it and we talked about the idea of me taking it home and agreed that I'd take it home next fall if she didn't use it over the next year.

She didn't use it so I brought it home to my house on Saturday and the picture is in my back yard after I reassembled it yesterday.

I don't think I'll be putting too much use on this one because of the sentimental value it has, probably only on or around my birthday since that's the only time my grandmother had been using it, whenever I happened to visit around my birthday.

Family kettles with special memories are the best. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
Currently figuring out how a first gen SSP is gonna fit into a busted old sedan...

Thanks for the comments everyone.  It is for sure a special kettle because of the special memories associated with it.  I haven't done a cook on it yet and I might hold off on that until the next season because my grandmother did a beautiful job cleaning it up before I brought it home and I don't want to make a mess in it right that could end up sitting over the winter depending on how weather and my work schedule go.  But next year, I'll definitely put some steaks on it on my birthday.
