Hey everybody! I am in need of the front lower frame crossmember for my Gen 1 performer. I believe the front and rear are identical. The internal studs spot welds rusted out on mine. I am willing to pay for the part plus shipping and handling. Please email me vasilj@ilcdover.com with what you have and price. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Thanks!
John

Hello, cubalz. To my recollection, the front and back cross members aren't welded.  The star nuts inside the crossmembers tend to fail first. Look at replacing those.
If you cannot source the crossmember, it may be easier to purchase 1" square tubing, cutting to size and using the aforementioned star nuts at each corner.  Good luck and have fun with your restoration.

Mr.CPHo, yeah, I still have the complete crossmember, the issue is that the star nuts rusted and fell out of both ends.

This is where I sourced my star nuts in the past: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/star-nuts/tube-connecting-nuts~/

I'm sure I saved a prior invoice somewhere, but this should be a good start.

Thank you. I did not know I could just replace them. I honestly have no clue which size to buy. Can anyone tell me who has done this before?

I've done it.  You can use 1" star nuts but 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" are usually easier to find locally. A tighter fit but a little harder to bang in. A 5lb hammer fixes that.

You local bicycle shop will have them in stock.
