Aww... You almost made me feel bad. If you're  willing to make a 3 hr trip to hang out with a bunch and I mean a bunch (29) of kids I will make sure u get an invite next year.

I hear you, Steve.  I'm not about to trade in my stainless Performer, but it can be a pain to have that unusable table space while you're lighting.  I generally just set my stuff on a nearby table, but that's not always possible.

I have on occasion reached up under the front edge of the table with my left hand to valve off the propane, though.  Not too terribly difficult.
