Here in Ontario I have found chicken to be the best value. I am not paying $32 for 2-3 beef steaks or a roast. 3 full chicken legs @ $11 dollars is still too much but a better option, and perfect for BBQ

I've been finding the same.  So have some of my friends, to the point that I was talking with one about doing a barbecue a couple of weeks ago and his response was, "Anything but chicken" because of how frequently we've all been eating it.

Occasionally, there have been good deals on different cuts of pork chop.  Not so with beef unless you come across something that's extremely short dated, i.e. cook and eat this right now type sales.

I'm thinking about checking out Costco but I'm also single so huge bulk purchases don't work well for me.

Here in Iowa chicken specials are still the best deal. I bought 10 lb. bags of quarters (thigh/leg) for $6.90 last weekend. Did also get some pork butts for $1.98/lb. and beef brisket for $3.99/lb. A 10 lb. log of 80/20 hamburger was $2.90/lb. Will be watching for whole pork loins on sale as they will usually get below $2.00/lb.

At the same time chicken wings were over $5.00/lb. and brats were $1.25 ea. Did find some bacon on sale for $4.00 per 1 lb. package. Whole chickens were around $2.00/lb.

Steaks are out of reach. Kind of depressing.

Good call, I do not have a food saver. I do regularly buy family packs of breast etc. Cooking for four, I do typically go through the family pack in a few days but I love the thought of a Food Saver.

I bought one at Walmart for $79. The nearest priced other brand was 279.

For all I was saying about chicken fatigue, I have one that was on special on the rotisserie tonight with the Cattle Boyz garlic rub on it instead of the usual Cluck and Squeal.
